a row of Vestal statues and King Numa found during excavations

A magic lantern slide showing statues of real Vestal Virgins shortly after being excavated (they were found in a pile). The far right statue is a particularly famous one of a Vestalis Maxima now on display in the National Museum in Rome: the others stand in the ruins of the House of the Vestals in the Forum. The male statue at the far left is likely King Numa.
